Bike Town works to support various activities in promoting active travel and community spirit through cycling. BikeTown Africa ("BTA") is a charity founded in 2006 by two cyclist friends, David B. and Steve M. [citation needed] Between 2006 and 2012, BikeTown Africa delivered more than 2,000 new, custom-made bicycles to healthcare workers in sub-Saharan Africa. [citation needed] The charity has operated largely as a partnership between Bicycling Magazine, the Rodale Institute, Bristol Myers Squibb, UTi 2020-07-16 PBOT says the partnership will bring an all-new fleet of 1,500 bikes with electronic-assisted pedals.
BIKETOWN for All annual memberships start at $5 per month. BIKETOWN for All is available to residents of Portland aged 16 and older* who hold Oregon Trail cards, live in affordable housing, qualify for unemployment assistance, or receive other social services. That plan will go up to $5 month with zero free minutes and a cost of $0.05 per minute.
